Trust me, it is not fine.
I have at least one app that disables major functions when Developer Mode is active in my stock android, even with a locked bootloader and without root.

That is already the case on Android phones with unlocked bootloader. Banking apps (in my experience) will either completely not work or only with limited functionality when run on a unlocked phone.
And with Gentoo you have to spin your own yarn before the knitting 😁
When I got into the company I was allowed to use Linux. But a few years ago the company was bought and merged with a much bigger company and the new IT policy made Windows mandatory.
It does! In every desktop that uses QT 😜
Just having a copy of a Game doesn't help at all with preservation when the games have DRM. Preservation is more then just safe storage, preservation also means to ensure that the content can be used by future generations. This is in general not really an issue with physical media like sculptures, books or paintings. But with digital media this often means that the data has to be copied to other media, convert the data to other formats, or write/use emulators or even rebuild the engine of the game to ensure that a piece of software written now can still be used by whatever hardware/software architecture is in use 20, 50 or 100 years from now. And such preservation has to start when the data is fresh and new, not in 50 or 100 years.
All fair and good arguments, so no flamewar today. Sorry 😜
Just as an addition, nothing against ZFS it is a great FS, but BTRFS can this too.
Never heard of this, but it sounds very interesting. Thanks for mentioning it.

But those echo chambers are a normal result of human interaction, from the friends you choose, to the events and bars/clubs you frequent, to the magazines and papers/websites you read.
Echo chambers will naturally occur as long as people can choose who to follow or read or otherwise consume or connect with.
The only system to prevent this would be to always force every flavor of everything to anybody, removing every way to filter or freedom to choose who to follow and what to hear/consume. And that sounds very dystopian and fascist to my ears.
