Own. I managed not to blow my entire inheritance and bought a house (that’s too small and built by some truly incompetent people) just before the prices started to get stupid. It’s “worth” 2.5x.

It’s mostly too small because my kids will never be able to afford a house of their own.

There was a time when media would consider the newsworthiness of a story before publishing it, rather than simply the engagement/entertainment value.

Exercising judgement led to the fruitcakes with conspiracy theories to being at the very least muted.

Say, how much longer on the copyright?

Evaporative cooling. Low cost.

I am using IKEA blinds. They have their disadvantages, but they’re zigbee and work well enough. I cut them to fit, which was a simple job but requires attention to detail and tools which I didn’t have; nevertheless they look good from across the room.

Stateside, I’ve heard good things about Lutron but they’re pricy.

Generally true and that’s why I often read these articles scratching my head. Make them closed loop! They almost always use chillers…

Water use becomes a concern if the water is moved too far and/or too fast like your Sahara example.

The author acts like the only option available to them for weight loss is a GLP-1. The author is a physician in the USA; I think it is safe to assume that it is within their ability to eat well. They state that as they recover from the birth of their child (which, i may argue, might be a greater impact on their quality of life than overweight and ozempic), they’re feeling better and exercising.

I’m not sure what their point is, beyond promoting the idea that obesity isn’t a problem.

I argue that our consumption focused way of life, alongside our existing growth rate, is a bigger existential threat but what do I know.

Imagine if they’d added simple commuter rail instead of lanes along the highway. It’s so blindingly obvious.

Invest in developing places that aren’t the big magnet city. Invest in telecommunications so that Letterkenny can run a data centre and/or call centre.

Invest in mass transit solutions. Use some of those powers that let Ford override the Conservation Authorities to override freight railways.

ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO WORK FROM HOME!

“An Ontario city”

Odd phrasing. “Canada’s capital city”

I love my EV but I also need the ability to complete a 700km round trip on a very regular basis and presently the electric options aren’t suitable.

But they’re coming, and I would like to buy one.
