I agree. As long as anonymous voting doesn't cause obvious trolling/spam issues, it should be preferred.
One of the reasons I've always found Facebook off-putting and never used it (even before learning about the shady practices) are the very visible votes. I tend to overanalyse any reaction and would judge people based on their votes on my posts, even if I consciously tried to avoid it. Similarly, I imagine some other people would do the same and I'd feel like I'm under surveillance.

In my opinion, yes. People here seem to be making fun of anti-fascists making good points. It would be a shame if lemmy.sdf.org got banned as a far-right instance just because of one community. That is, unless sdf.org, whatever that is, is also far-right. Given all the chaos all around, I'll happily avoid that rabbit hole to avoid losing !bun_alert_system@lemmy.sdf.org just in case I find fascist shit I'll need to report.
I just noticed the Funhole and it is full of weird jokes about false-positive "fascist alerts", fringe political takes, and posts that seem to make less sense than the !unix_surrealism@lemmy.sdf.org...
I feel that to understand, I'd need to be a member of whatever self-hosted channels in various protocols that sdf.org users use to communicate, but I think they would immediately oust me as too mainstream. Not that I'm too eager to find out, I think most of them are on psychidelic drugs.
