I see a lot of down votes and conflict in privacy communities about which one is the best, but tbh, if you're not using fb/sms/email you're pretty much the top 1% of privacy users. So as far as we should be concerned, that's good enough.

The debates about signal being better than matrix etc are fine to have, but IMO it'd be more productive if we spoke more about how to get granny, the boss, the nephew, etc on signal, matrix etc. Doesn't matter how good any of our privacy apps are, I almost never meet a single person who uses any of them and have to default to fb. Most people over yonder haven't even heard of the apps that aren't telegram or signal.

IMO targeting the discorders(/telegramers) is the lowest hanging fruit. Discord/tg is already bridge compatible with matrix, if you can use LibreOffice, you can set up the t2bot discord-matrix bridge.

I kept track of when other tenants were moving in and out:

March, june, june, april

There were a few interesting cases:

dec (within building transfer), jan 1 (due to breakup)

I suspect rental prices will increase in response to one of these but have not recorded prices around me.

characteristics of places that wont have a housing shortage;

  • poor economic growth
  • Not a city, urbanization/globalization seems to make it worse

While some people claim that a "healthy" ratio of jobs to housing units is around 2 new jobs for every 1 unit of housing, many California metros are far from that, with San Diego at 3.9, Los Angeles at 4.7, and San Francisco at 6.8

Why are these people in these homeless camps? Are they criminals?

No.

Then what did they do to deserve this?

Nothing, just people without jobs or places to live

Increase my financial literacy, or learning how stocks really work. I took economics 101 and 102 so I know some bare basics about the economy, but in particular I want to learn more about things which I could use as personal finance. Economics 101+102 isn't that much about individuals.

Preference would be peertube, then odysee then youtube

I know SA means the same license applies to remixed works. But what does that really mean? Can someone give me an example?

A fictional example is fine.

Answer:

Suppose you took a photo and publish it under CC BY license. If someone uses it on an article and references your photo properly, the article can have any license because it's not an adaptation/remix of your photo, the article just has your photo inside. If you publish the photo under CC BY-SA license, the same applies (in this case, the reference to your pohoto in the article will be slightly different).

Now suppose that you publish your photo under CC BY license and someone makes and adaptation/remix of it. For example the new work is your photo cropped and with some filters applied. The author of the adaptation can add the NonCommertial clause to the derivative work. He/she can license its new work with CC BY-NC license or with CC BY-NC-SA, stopping any commertial use of the adaptation and if he/she wants getting paid for any commerdial use.

But if you publish your photo under CC BY-SA license, this is not possible. The adaptation of your photo must use the same license. The remix, the derivative work, must be CC BY-SA too! To make any other use, the adaptor needs your permission.

Did I explain myself?

You have more info in the Creative Commons FAQ:

I dislike how to post on like the majority of big subreddit, you have to have X karma, Y account age etc, and those things seem to be enforced by automod. A really good feature of lemmy for me is there being no automod!

A long time ago, I had a mstdn.social account and was trying to view a friend's content on like mastodon.art. I couldn't see his content via mstdn.social at all, but I could if I just went to mastodon.art. Mastodon.art was not in the list of servers mstdn.social did not federate with. I assumed this was a glitch.
