I can see this working with strangers, and I would have no problem getting rejected by one. It gets more complicated with people I have to maintain a relationship with because people may be uncomfortable.

What's up with the receipts?

[–] BackOnMyBS@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You trying to get drone striked??

The US is supporting Israel through what we can mostly all agree is a genocide of the Gazans. Clearly, Biden isn't a genocidal maniac, yet he's all in with unwavering support. Why are we doing this? There has to be a logical reason that isn't just "we want Israel to kill everyone in Gaza and take their land a la lebensraum."

We know this is an emotional topic, so please be respectful of each other so that we can have open and clear authentic discussion on the matter.

As an autistic person, I hate being perceived.

lmao!! I've never heard put that way, but yes!

Autistic people don’t get used to forced sensory sensitivities; they DISSOCIATE. Autistic people don’t “habituate”. Research shows our pain receptors light up when we’re exposed to our sensory sensitivities.

So much this. Prior to doing trauma work, a therapist ran a dissociation scale on me, and my score was quite high...like dissociative disorder high. I then worked with them to reconnect with reality and overwhelmed myself into a psychosomatic mess. I almost went to the hospital a few times until the autism therapist stepped in and told me what I needed to do to get it together. That was serious. I thought I was dying.

Thank you for making this updated post 🙂

I made some awesome arroz con gris (beans and rice) that I froze after cooking it. The only animal product it contains would be lard. Otherwise, it's just rice, beans, garlic, onions, green bell peppers, olives, and herbs. I don't remember how long ago I made it, but it could be anywhere from 6-12 months ago. It stayed frozen the whole time. If I thaw it in a pool of room temp water and warm it up on the stove, is it safe to eat?

It's been a hard day and my brain ran out of thinking fuel. I can't even google this rn. I appreciate any helpful responses.

Edit: Based on responses and the American federal government, it should be safe. My freezer is set to 0*F, so we're having dinner tonight! If you see me posting a lot in the next few days, it's cause I got hospitalized, and you're all gonna pay for it with my shitposts from the hospital bed! 😋

They did, but I thought they were just being mean to hurt my feelings. I didn't think there was any truth to it.

The regular bus wasn't full, so they didn't randomly pick me and 3 other kids to be in the overflow bus. It was the literal short bus. I rode the short bus to school with the other autistic kids. How the hell did I get to 40 without realizing I was autistic? 😆

ITT: people who have severely underestimated Mozart's musical capacities and contributions.

Mozart is a musician that is studied by nearly any professional musician. There are historians, musical scholars, and museums dedicated to him. He's a household name across the world. He established a period of music. As a teenager, he deciphered a 12 min choral piece with multiple groups and solos after hearing it once and by memory wrote it down later that night (he heard it a 2nd time a few days later for minor corrections). When he presented the score to the clergy, they said he got one note wrong. After investigation, Mozart heard it right. The musician's score was off by a note. Could any popular musician mentioned here decipher just a 6 min song of 4 instrument band after hearing it once with pen and paper ready? Imagine telling any music legend now, "Hey, you're off by a half a step on the 3rd note of bar 28 of your own song."

Comparing an awesome popular singer, guitarist, or band to him is like comparing your friend that got a job at NASA to Einstein. There is no modern Mozart. There have been greats since Mozart, but there haven't been any Mozarts since Mozart. I say this as a Beethoven fan. Mozart was the only Mozart. He was so good, that his name became a title for great musician: Mozart. No one listed in this thread is anywhere near being a Mozart.

omk lol 😂

They did two simulations of sensory sensitivity. I thought it was going to be bs, but when they did the park and mall videos, I laughed because I found it to be so true for me. Then, I realized that NTs live like they're in a movie: they can focus only on what they intend to focus by tuning everything else out. Wowwwww.

Anyone feel similar or disagree? Have you seen video that you think are better representations?

autistic employees may contribute to improvements in organizational performance because they are more likely to identify and report inefficient processes and dysfunctional practices when they witness them.

Except, when you inadvertently point out that the emperor has no clothes and you get attacked for that. Meanwhile, the chill NTs in the room were waiting for you to do it and are internally cracking up that you finally did what they knew you were going to do all along.

We’re usually saying that it would legitimize these elections

Imagine the audacity of the US to say they legitimized an election when one of their own parties, previous president, and losing candidate can't legitimize the past election and is already refusing to legitimize the next one.

“Well can’t you just try to put up with some of these things that bother you?”

That's pretty invalidating.

Personally, I have problems with runny things, eggs, floppy/over cooked vegetables, that squeaky feeling from biting on slightly boiled green beans, and cold food.

Fish is understandable. That can have its funk, flakes, and squeaky squish. I prefer a deep fried tilapia, but that probably wouldn't help. I can see mahi and salmon being weird with texture.

What vegetables are you trying to get more of?
