Why is the person obsessed with fire and talking to butterflies not wearing clothes? It's fairly well established that William approaches situations differently.

He's not naked. You can clearly see that he's wearing glasses, unless you yourself need glasses, in which case it might not be so clear that he's not naked because he's wearing glasses, so take my word for it, he's not naked because he is wearing glasses.
