Why is there no hair? It's completely surrounded by hair. The entire rest of the head (except parts of the actual face) is covered by hair. Other animals have hair.

Just really think in terms of bangability. You wanna bang someone with a hairy forehead? Neither did our ancestors.

This is it, it's the perfect example of adaptation through sexual selection.

It helps to think of your hair as essentially being a mane. Remember, lion manes also expose their forehead.

I am a woman with a small forehead (low hairline) and it always looks like I'm wearing a wig. I hate it. I yearn for a normal-sized forehead.

[–] MadBabs@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I am a woman with ample forehead to spare. Too bad I can't send some your way.

All women yearn for a normal-sized forehead. Regardless of actual forehead size.

Better non-verbal communication with your peers. Same thing for having white eyeballs and dark irises, everyone around you knows exactly what your looking at.

Man, I'd love to see her as a beleaguered ruler struggling with questions of morality in a fantasy show. Just imagine seeing her wrestling with life-or-death decisions concerning hundreds if not thousands of her subjects.

Male orangutans don't have their faces completely covered with hair. So it's not just humans.

evolutionary our bare skin matched with our outstanding ability to sweat is related to staying cool

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ever have sweat drip into your eyes? Shit stings.

That's why you have eyebrows.

[–] superfes@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

That's why I shave them off...

long forehead hair would be hard to keep out of your face. there's survival fitness in not having hair cover your eyes /speculation

[–] Weirdfish@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

George Carlin said it best, yes a receding hairline is annoying, but no where near as bad as an advancing hairline.

Who would want to have to shave their forehead?

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 1 points 2 months ago

other animals have hair but less around the face. The hair on top of my golden retriever is long but around the face it does not grow long. For all practical purposes the area around the snout and eyes is bare.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net -1 points 2 months ago

If I look surprised, would my eyebrows be technically on my forehead, thus giving it hair? 🤔

Hairy Potter

It houses your brain and absorbers impact... What's strange about that?

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Hair helps absorb impacts.
