With a name history like this blud should've just said "oh no I don't use Steam I just pirate everything"

Fun Fact 1: you can delete your name history on Steam

Fun Fact 2: tools like Steamhistory archive all recorded name histories of steam accounts, regardless of if the user deleted their name history.

We have very different ideas of fun but I'm open to new things

The absolute best case here is that he's just some edgelord.

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 1 points 5 days ago

I think a more likely explanation would be he has an edgy friend or family who he lent the account to for family sharing steam library, or he accidentally left his account logged in at an internet cafe or something and they changed the name as a joke.

No, that's just what they say. This creep has some fantasies going on at the least

[–] FozzyOsbourne@lemm.ee 31 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I'd hope that it's that their friends are edgelords and keep changing their name when they leave their phone/computer unlocked

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

I choose to also have this hope

I'd maybe buy that if he said classmate, but no way someone halfway normal makes it to adulthood like that.

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 1 points 5 days ago

Maybe he hasn't changed his steam name for a decade or something? I dunno how long that name history stays there for.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So I guess you don't work in IT then?

[–] magic_smoke@links.hackliberty.org 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Oh no I'm not implying there aren't adults like that, just that those that are probably have more issues than just being a bit edgy.

If you have any sense of self or social awareness you'll probably cut that shit out pretty quick after high school.

I'd know, I was an edgy dipshit teenager. Kinda glad that steam tool that other guy was talking about doesn't go far back enough to see my old names...

[–] hannesh93 7 points 1 week ago

Yeah and that all those changes where within the span of a month, 10 years ago

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 75 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When he changed his username to all numbers that must’ve been the first close call.

[–] qooqie@lemmy.world 112 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I think steam does that when a profile gets reported a bunch for stuff like this. Hence the name right after the numbers

[–] kate@lemmy.uhhoh.com 34 points 1 week ago

yeah, 7656119 is the prefix of a steam user ID

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 39 points 1 week ago

Average DOTA player

[–] kibiz0r@midwest.social 39 points 1 week ago

I like the time he spent agonizing over the grammar for the BloodFeast one.

Someone needs to do a wellness check on Pinhead AJ.

[–] FozzyOsbourne@lemm.ee 12 points 1 week ago

TIL you can view people's name-change history on Steam

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Man, I've had more than a few coworkers where discovering their online life was a bit of a shock.

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

My day job is in an office. My nightlife is in the circus. I'm that coworker lolol. I hardly keep it secret though.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 3 points 1 week ago

It's probably the most honest thing he's stated.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

I'm terrified that this guy is using GTA to practice for the real thing.
