the engine is a big-block Chevy V8 that’s been bored out to 496 cubic inches

496 cubic inches > Bugatti Chiron 8.0L
The math ain't mathin here

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

What isn't mathing? 496 is bigger than 488.

The Chiron has 4 turbos and is a completely different design of engine.

someone cast [Capacious extremis on that V8

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 hours ago

Nah, she was endowed with huge jugs from the casting. Just had a crankshaft swap with a little enlargement done. 4.25x4.25 bore/stroke.

Vs the 3.39x3.39 of the Chiron

So much pollution and rubber fragments for nothing

[–] GhiLA@sh.itjust.works 3 points 8 hours ago

Here's where I'm at.

I'm fine if it's a sport. There aren't millions of cars all over the earth doing burnouts, drifting, racing or doing downhill touge, or hitting the land speed record.

I think you're looking for the "fuck cars" community

[–] EasternLettuce@lemm.ee 2 points 4 hours ago

Surely I can enjoy cars and driving while also enjoying clean air and water

[–] YungOnions@sh.itjust.works 2 points 14 hours ago

But, but, hur-dur tire make smoke!

[–] fuckingkangaroos@lemm.ee -3 points 9 hours ago

I'm with you, I'm tired of breathing polluted air because of this kind of bs

[–] thallamabond@lemmy.world 1 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

I agree, I like cars, but tires are expensive, lungs aren't cheap either.

[–] RunawayFixer@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago

Relative to rich people sailing on superyaghts (just to give an example), these rubber lovers are very small fries. Both are wasteful past times, but when looked at per person, there are way more polluting hobbies than going to car events. Taylor Swift going to meet her boyfriend is another famous example.

I like watching guys build and run burnout cars on YouTube. If you think the tires are the expensive part, man are you in for a surprise.

Don't be such a negative Nancy.

[–] EasternLettuce@lemm.ee 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Wishing for a world with clean air and less rubber pollution makes me negative?

[–] treadful@lemmy.zip 2 points 9 hours ago

In this case, yes. These events are not impacting your breathing and the waste is relatively trivial.

Let people have a little fun.

Her grandson's in the van with the bluetooth and remote joystick, giggling his 12 year old ass off

[–] Blaster_M@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

[–] pHr34kY@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I have uBlock origin on Firefox and it looks fine. No ads. No deformities.

[–] Blaster_M@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Same, but I still got adspammed
