/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Well... Star Wars does have a character named Sleazebaggano... So...

This is actually an interesting rabbit hole. I wonder if it's a meme or if Duke Jizzerstein is actually real. They really went hard into this whole jizz thing. There is literally a track on the album "Let's Jizz With the Duke!" called "Gonna Jizz Tonite"

Edit: it has to be fake. There is literally a track called "Spermulation". Also the website is a giveway that it's likely ai generated https://mrpii.online/

Sometimes, late at night, the Jizz band starts playing more schmaltzy. Schmaltzy Jizz.

I refuse to apologize.

[–] Batman@lemmy.world 5 points 17 hours ago

I'm something of a jizz-wailer myself...

-Riker, probably

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 7 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Star Wars Jizzed right into my ear....

This isn't as funny since Disney renamed it to Jatz

[–] thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 16 hours ago

Damn Disney and their cultural appropriation..

That’s our word!

[–] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

When i saw that i was just hoping so hard that Jatz becomes slang for ass to mouth sex or something.

[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Be the change you want to see.

[–] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Hey have you heard of Jatz?

[–] Allonzee@lemmy.world 37 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

One preaches hope for a better future.

One preaches a never ending cycle of ambition, corruption, and cruelty.

Who would have ever thought time would prove Star Wars more thematically realistic 😂

[–] RoidingOldMan@lemmy.world 20 points 23 hours ago (6 children)

Star Wars was based on the past but set in the future. They borrowed "stormtroopers" from Hitler. The space battles are just like WWII dogfights. Star Wars was never looking forward it was looking backwards.

Especially this one:

Either you're into Star Trek and understand the self-burn vibes here or it's just a random not-overly-nerdy shirt.

[–] Tyoda@lemm.ee 1 points 4 hours ago

It's a Tom Scott reference with a funny triangle

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

I just applied for my UK passport and the photo I gave to them was me in a red T-shirt with the TOS delta on it. I'm guessing the delta will be cropped out, but here's hoping.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Total stranger in a Stargate T shirt. They probably have way more firepower, and enough C4 to solve all my problems.

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 92 points 1 day ago (9 children)

kinda makes sense to me

one is an attempt at a hopeful, logical view of humanities future.. the other has laser swords and magic.

[–] TimeSquirrel@kbin.melroy.org 49 points 1 day ago (5 children)

The Expanse: space will always try to kill you, humanity still sucks, everything still hurts, everything is still dirty.

StarTrek all the way, actual REAL peaceful space communists or religious Knights with magic powers? That's not a hard choice

[–] MisterFrog@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Why does it feel like this comment section is assuming someones values based on their enjoyment of works of fiction haha

I like both for different reasons. And I don't think that really says much about my values at all

It's entertainment, people!

[–] BeardedGingerWonder@feddit.uk 17 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Everyone thinks I'm super into star wars cause I enjoy building Lego space ships and star wars is the option in that regard. Mind you I've just noticed a Chinese brick company have dropped a giant Enterprise and there's a Rocinante on the way too!

[–] ILikeTraaaains@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)
[–] BeardedGingerWonder@feddit.uk 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Enterprise

Roci

I've ordered from both sites and they are trustworthy FWIW. If you're not familiar with Chinese brick companies GoBricks are the gold standard, Jie Star are pretty good too IMO. Most of the brands don't make their own bricks, anyone that uses GoBricks or Jie Star are typically okay in terms of brick quality.

If I'm honest in maybe 20-30 sets I've had one "poor" quality set of bricks and it was a £12 knock off of an X-Wing that I only bought because it was cheap, even then it was fine for the price.

If your interstellar society has slavery, I'm not interested. Didn't the Jedi free Luke and just leave his mom in captivity?

Way too many Star Wars fans like the Empire for my taste. (And the rebels aren't much better, if they're better at all.)

[–] DmMacniel 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

That was Anakin Not his son Luke. And Qui-gon tried to free Shmi as well but Watto was too resilient.
