FBI should care more about Epstein's friends instead of having fun with digital books

[–] neoman4426@fedia.io 39 points 6 days ago

I mean, what would be the point at this point? Majority of the country is apparently okay with Epstein style activities given his best friend who has bragged about having the same tastes got elected

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 6 days ago

Yeah but Epstein's friends are rich and have ready access to attorneys.

More evidence that our justice system is more about punishing the poor.

The suppression of the means to educate, as a priority, is a purposeful tactic to subdue dissent.

I hope Z Library, and others like it, live on like the hydra.

[–] Fox@pawb.social 0 points 5 days ago

Yeah for real, why is Bill Gates still among polite society?

[–] Arcturus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 101 points 6 days ago

Damn can't believe the guy saving me so much money is able to have some fun with their family. How dare they

[–] xorollo@leminal.space 60 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This is how they're spending it:

  • rainbow weather machines
  • FEMA trailers
  • supporting gator farmers
  • latest kohls fashion

the American dream

I swear this is an old photo from at least a few months ago. I remember people joking about the caravan and boat being so extravagant

It seems weird FBI would post misinformation regarding how "they" are spending the money

[–] Irremarkable@fedia.io 61 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I like how one of their points of evidence is a only kinda sort of expensive camper trailer. Yeah, I'm perfectly fine with the people maintaining a public resource like that being able to go on camping trips lmao.

I also like their very picturesque cabin picture with a rainbow haha

[–] prex@aussie.zone 21 points 6 days ago

Must have been a stolen, copyrighted rainbow.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 43 points 6 days ago

Oh God they're removing faces from people?!? 😭

WHY?! They have no mouth but they must scream!

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 5 days ago

Why would you take down a website for a c++ compression library?

[–] CaptainBasculin@lemmy.ml 33 points 6 days ago (1 children)

In my experience it's very common for Z-Library's domains to get seized. My password manager has like 10 different domains connected to the same zlibrary account; 9 of which doesnt work anymore.

Best place you can see the currently working domain is wikipedia.

This makes so little sense to me. One would think that an app would have a wider user base as well as being easier to take down. All they would need to do is run the app and see where it phones home to, then send a C&D to the distribution platform(s).

i remember when soap2day was a thing (it was one of the better web ones without downloading that we could easily use on the PS4 without a USB stick etc) they had soapgate.org which would give a list of the current working domains. different domains would go down but until they shut the entire thing down I never saw soapgate change

[–] qyron@sopuli.xyz 26 points 6 days ago (1 children)

As a wannabe author, I could only be so lucky to get my work "pirated". Free publicity.

[–] ericatty@infosec.pub 11 points 5 days ago

Seriously. I managed a small rock band for a while. We got picked to tour with another band in some clubs in Eastern Europe. This was pre-Spotify, but Facebook strong.

We had no CD sales pre-tour to these places, just some views on youtube. We were relying a lot on the other band.

But the people that came to the shows? They knew the words and sang along and we had a great time.

Someone had our music and shared it before we got there. And we were grateful for those pirates!! And yes, we sold some merch and CDs at the shows.

If not for the pirates it would have been a much different experience with a lot less people showing up.

Our band never "made it" but it was still a successful tour and a helluva lot of fun. In large part because our music was pirated and shared ahead of time.

You can link a community for all instances by doing !zlibrary@lemmy.ml btw

or by typing [text](/c/zlibrary@lemmy.ml) like this

They're destroying whatever credibility they might've had by acting like trolls. Like at this point they might as well be posting racist wojak memes in these cards.

It really doesn't help their cause or make people want to believe them, and even to normies it comes off as extremely hard grasping. It makes them look weaker. It only helps the cause for people who already onboard, which is useless because those people are already onboard, it's preaching to the choir.

The more they try to stop us, the more we will come back

[–] moosetwin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Is the post description bugged out? I see a lot of comments mentioning things that are already mentioned in it.

Here's the post description, in case it is bugging outThe other domains are still online, though z-library has yet to respond

I've seen this 'z-library seized' image shared around much prior to this, but I couldn't find the source

It's unlikely that this was actually done by the FBI

Shows up on voyager. Some people just read the title/image and scroll down.

Are there domains that ARE up and running, currently?
