A rare "Nintendo did a good thing" moment.

More of a “doesn’t plan to do a bad thing” moment since they technically didn’t do anything.

Nintendo is actually pretty good for it's employees, and at developing games. The main reason people don't like it is how strongly they try to protect their IP.

I actually think this might be an extension of them protecting their IP. Afterall, the IP of plenty of other companies has been mined for use training Generative AI LLM's.

This is it, pretty much. I don't agree with people who are aggressively against Nintendo in general, especially in cases like the MIG-Switch, but at the same time, they operate in such a bizarre grey area. It's unbelievably stupid to both prevent software preservation, and not allow legal ways to obtain those titles

Tbf when it comes to actually developing games they're good at what they do

The funniest thing they could do now is make a really shitty Wario game using only generative A.I.

Honestly, if any game could make good use of generative AI it'd be wario ware.

Nintendo saw Squeenix release Portopia and Symbiogenesis and adapted their plans
