Serious question! I want to hide all posts about the American politics and their president. How to do that?

Edit: Thank you everyone! I was searching in the wrong location, thanks to your comments I found the keyword-filters in my app. Problem solved for me.

Filter by specific words. Will depend heavily on your client.

I just resorted to blocking all political subs (including the ones that pretend to be about news but are entirely political)

And then everytime someone posts about something political I block that person too since 9/10 times they only post about politics

If you're using browser you can add this to your adblock custom filters. Just make sure the instance matches the one you're using so incase of OP, replace lemm.ee with lemmy.world

lemm.ee##div.post-listing:has(span:has-text("/Trump/i"))

I use Sync, you can filter key words in any combination of post content, titles, community names and comments.

It won't catch everything, but it clears out enough that I get enough other content to keep me happy. You could also block the specific communities for politics.

Sync, Voyager and other clients allow keyword blocking.

A good starting list :

Elon, musk, trump, Biden, Harris, fascist

As others mentioned, most apps offer word filters, just got to hit enough key words. I blocked the word "Tr*mp" and it cleared my main feed up real good already, with some fine tuning I guess I can get rid of the rest too.
