I very much support Ukraine in the war, but... yeah, that's horrifying. Just on a human level.

I mean, some of those end on a closeup of somebody's face. That's up there as some of the most haunting shit I've ever seen. I'll be thinking about that for a very long time.

They kill the people of Ukraine for no reason.

Get them fucked up in every possible way. If they don't like that they should piss off home. It's as simple as that.

Well the terrifying part is that this will be commonplace in every conflict in the future.

[–] ladicius@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

Always was. We simply get a massive load of video footage out of modern conflicts.

Sorry, I dislike needless death on either side. So while I hope a quick end to the conflict, I won’t be cheering on the deaths of fellow humans.

Invader deaths aren't 'needless'. They are necessary to force russia's withdrawal. An unfortunate necessity to be clear, but every russian (and apparently north korean) casualty increases the safety of innocent civilians and defenders, and brings Ukraine closer to a righteous victory.

@MudMan That's pretty much how war is. Imagine you had to basically shoot some people yourself. It would be terrifying.

@LaFinlandia

That's fucking terrifying. I hope this conflict ends soon.

That's fucking terrifying

The PTSD that will be triggered with those high-pitched tones of the ESC's coming online...

In like 5 to 10 years there'll be veterans getting horrific flashbacks when the delivery drone comes by to drop off their pizza and / or Amazon package.

[–] Roflmasterbigpimp@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

If you don't want to be droned, then FUCKING LEAVE!

[–] GammaGames@beehaw.org 4 points 2 weeks ago

Probably saves a lot of battery!

@LaFinlandia a bit off-topic, but for those wondering, the song is not played by Rammstein. It's Eisbrecher - Verrückt:

Can this sort of video be tagged as NSFW? Or is it tagged as such and do I have a wrong setting in my client? It is very disturbing.

[–] polle 5 points 2 weeks ago

With nsfw it would be at least a slight warning if you just woke up into war death videos.

[–] ladicius@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

very disturbing

Because it shows orcs? Guess what Ukrainians think of that view in their own country.

[–] trashgirlfriend@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Haha yes I also enjoy seeing the face of a man the moment before he is turned into s corpse.

I want Ukraine to defend itself but you people honestly disgust me.

[–] madnificent@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I'm sorry, but even if this was a cockroach being killed, I still think it could be NSFW. None of this should be happening, it does. These are humans on both sides being murdered for no good reason and it is not the sort of imagery kids should accidentally see. The NSFW blurring exists for such cases.

I hope the aggressor retreats.

That being said, I don't see the sidebar asking to blur right now. I don't know if it is against my instance's rules. It feels like common sense to me.

[–] ladicius@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Best advice I can give is not opening posts with videos in this sub.

Yes, war is horrific a lot of times. That's the exact reason why this sub exists.

[–] madnificent@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

I agree. Without an NSFW tag this video auto-plays when scrolling through the feed on Voyager. If playback would require an action to start playing then it'd feel different indeed.

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

I was on c/all and it autoplayed. It needs NSFW.
