Haven’t watched the video, but I will. I think it comes down to individual perceptions. As an American, some think we’ve never had a democracy (slavery, women’s suffrage), etc. If we do concede that the government has bent to the will of the people, at least in some part, then that populism has narrowed. Polling has shown that Americans want healthcare, gun control, and a tax on billionaires. The evidence that these positions haven’t happened yet leads me to believe that democracy is limited now, and might be irreparable.

Great channel btw. Congrats on overcoming the anxiety of putting yourself out there. I’ve thought of doing it, but I’m a horrible editor and only been a Marxist for 7 years. I’m currently listening to Ferdia O’Driscoll of Bright Age Beyond on 1DimeRadio. Post capitalism interests me and could be a jumping off point for a future video.
