Thirty-six flights were cancelled and 201 delayed at a Japanese airport on the weekend after a pair of scissors went missing in a store near the boarding gates.

Security checks at Hokkaido’s New Chitose Airport domestic terminal were suspended for about two hours on Saturday morning, leaving hundreds of travellers temporarily stranded.

There were huge bottlenecks and queues as passengers in the departure lounge were forced to retake security checks.

Authorities tried to locate the missing scissors, which were found at the same store the following day.

The Yakuza games are very serious crime dramas with absolutely bonkers side quests and minigames.

I'm glad Sega tried to change the series name to "Like A Dragon" and the fans just.. call it Yakuza still anyway.

Edit: It is always morally correct to deadname a major corporation, art belongs to the people, no the companies. He'll always be Robotnik to me.

they should have just made the air marshalls carry rocks. or stones for flights going to the UK.

either way, just avoid paper.

In Switzerland you can buy victorinox knives in the airports.

The important thing is paying, security comes after.

I'm not afraid of scissors, but I'm very afraid of my victorinox knife.

How could step one or two have been anything besides authorities turning the whole store inside out looking for the scissors? The most likely scenario by far obviously was that the employee simply misplaced it

How could step one be anything besides the store taking a 2€ minus on their spreadsheet, instead of stopping flights. So many ways to hide a ceramic knife instead of a stupid pair of scissors uselessly incapable of doing anything on a plane.

All of these "security theatre" measures are just pure incompetence institutionalized due to 911, that managed to do nothing, just some security equipment manufacturers rich, and plane clients quite annoyed.

Hell, derailing a train would cause more human life / infrastructure damage, than a potential "guy has sharp object and cant do shit to the plane piloting" shit boomers are somehow still, in their old age, surprisingly afraid of.

Cars, trains, trucks all move freely, but somehow planes are terrified of extremely remote chance of bad actors trying to make a 911-esque political statement? (Because it's about the fanfare not actual damage, mooost buildings are much less secure than people would think)

Nevermind all the weapons that get through security unnoticed...

They definitely lied about finding the scissors later.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 1 points 2 weeks ago

They realized only the Scissorman could have taken them obviously
