It doesn't protect anyone from hate speech.

Instagram and facebook isn't protecting anybody from hate speech

[–] DudeDudenson@lemmings.world -2 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

But how can I make it about women issues then?

[–] praise_idleness@sh.itjust.works 13 points 4 weeks ago

Women are more likely to experience gender-based bullying than men. Men gets bullied too but they are rarely targeted specifically because of their gender.

The article really didn't have to only focus on women but it's also somewhat valuable insight.

Instagram isn't protecting anybody from hate speech. They don't give a shit.

Unfortunately, no matter who you are, how you or others label you, some people will hate you purely for who you are, and Meta doesn't (and will never) care.

Maybe unrestrained capitalism wasn't such a good idea...

Meta enccourages it. It drives up engagement which means more ads viewed and more data gathered.

Are men being protected from hate speech or something?

[–] HK65@sopuli.xyz 3 points 4 weeks ago

No, but they should be able to take it, they rule the world after all. /s

TBH I've never experienced or even seen any meaningful "misandry" online. It's a fake cause promoted by grifters, misogynists, and pals.

Women Politicians. What a category to hide Kamala's name behind it. But it's not just "women politicians", Instagram isn't protecting women in general.

It's not just about Kamala. Fash didn't really care about Kamala before she became nominee b/c she's basically fash too.

It IS actually about women politicians (no quotes needed), especially anybody who deviates from the fash agenda. These creeps have been going after AOC for years. Not to mention other minority women like Cori Bush and Ilhan Omar. These women have been under attack for way longer than Kamala. And, unlike Kamala, they will never be mentioned or protected at all.
