Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

I was confused for a moment about your comment, because when I think about "thongs" I think about a tool to grab something, which could be useful for grilling, which didn't seem weird to me. But then I realized that's spelled "tongs" and that there's also a revealing garment called "thong", which is what you likely thought about.
I love this arc. Especially the strip where dad says “at least it’s not snowing, right? I mean, if it was snowing so hard we couldn’t start a fire” and Calvin responds “boy I love cold canned ravioli.”
I've been camping in a tent twice. The first time, it poured while we were setting up camp. The second night it dropped below freezing. The second time, I was visiting a friend's campsite they had rented for the summer. Remnants of a tropical storm came through that night. I packed my stuff in the middle of the night and went home. Haven't been camping since.
