You mean to tell me the guy who's only rich because daddy ran a emerald slave mine in apartheid South Africa isn't a good person? Never.

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 42 points 1 month ago

I like that his rebuttal is, "He didn't operate the mine! He owned a majority stake, which I inherited!"

As if not being the one cracking the whips somehow makes profiting off misery better.

Hey! The mine was in Kenya or something!

"Free speech" has always been a right-wing dog whistle. It has nothing to do with anyone's legal right, it's a means to claim victimhood and justify attacking others as "defense".

When Musk says free speech is the bedrock of democracy he means wealthy people have the right to speak and those who can't out spend them should shut the hell up.

Say it with me: Elon Musk is a Nazi.

He bought Twitter so he could give a platform to literal Nazis and kick off anyone he deems too far to the left. You can tell because that's precisely what he did after buying it. Only the most gullible people ever thought his actions were about free speech for anyone but the far right.

Socialism? Where'd you find a dictionary of right-wing lies?

free speech purist (but don't say cisgender on his platform)

[–] RedditWanderer@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago

It's whatever he wants, not just free speech, it's not coherent. He disagrees with having to cater to advertisers, but also wants to sue them for them not wanting to do business with him.

He's a child

The thing I love about them is when you use your right to free speech to ridicule them, they have the biggest cry about it.

If you want to discredit this guy the best thing you can do is to not repost his content. For each time he makes in to the frontpage a more useful post doesn't.

2+2=5 , peace is war, etc

This is extremely dangerous to our democracy: https://youtu.be/ZggCipbiHwE

[–] JackGreenEarth@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

it's a shame he doesn't agree with his first comment in practise, because I totally agree - free speech is essential for democracy.
