Can anyone link some examples?

It is not in a Pixelfed release yet, only merged into their public github repo, so I doubt there are any examples other that some internal test groups by the developer.

If you’re wondering about lemmy compatibility: https://mastodon.social/@pixelfed/112902986123309202

Lemmy and piefed compatibility will be there it seems.

If you’ve got other questions, dansup, lead dev, is pretty outgoing and probably happy to talk.

Or what about Mbin compatibility, eg. this example magazine: https://kbin.melroy.org/m/updates

[–] maegul@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

Dunno. Unfortunately, kbin and mbin may not be in people’s radar.

Hopefully things get standardised well enough that platform specific issues don’t really happen.

@maegul @Die4Ever @dansup has anyone run this code yet out in the wild other then Dan? I would like to see how its working

[–] maegul@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago

Nope. Given what povoq says above, it seems it’s not public yet?

How far is the release? I remember from about a year ago the apps would come 'soon' onto the app stores, but it's still not available yet

[–] poVoq@slrpnk.net 11 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

The new app is now available in pre-release state (and works quite well for me), and this group implementation is on their github in what looks like a functional state waiting to be officially released.

But yes, they have been teasing it for years, so it is correct to be sceptical. But it looks like it is really finally happening now.

Is this like Facebook groups and Mobilizon?

[–] poVoq@slrpnk.net 8 points 3 months ago

It seems to be inspired by Facebook groups, yes. I am not sure if there is an event integration yet.
