Just a bang-up job, CBS.

People can afford fast food, it’s McDonalds that has become too expensive.

[–] dis_honestfamiliar@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

I'm just gonna say, if the cost of fast food and ~~restaurant~~ microwaved-table-served- food is the same, the I'd rather choose the latter.

McDonald's sales are slumping because their prices are not competitive.

[–] dan1101@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

They gave up on the clown and the playplaces and they are trying to be premium. But it's really low-end products for ever increasing prices. Kids want to go to Chick Fila now.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago

Lets put it this way: they could not afford it health-wise all the time, but suddenly, they cannot afford it financially, too!

[–] Bell@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Maybe it's that the quality-price ratio is completely off the charts for McDs

[–] LowleeKun 5 points 3 months ago

They are not slumping enough. Shit food, for shitty prices.

I haven't been to McDonald's in a few years but I stopped into one for breakfast on a recent road trip and discovered that a single hash brown is now $2.50 plus tax!

Realistically, a hash brown probably should cost that much when you consider the number of people involved in creating, transporting, and serving it to you but I don't think we're seeing wages support that.
