Beyond Meat's list of ingredients looks scary:

Water, pea protein* (16%), canola oil, coconut oil, rice protein, flavouring, stabilizer (methylcellulose), potato starch, apple extract, colour (beetroot red), maltodextrin, pomegranate extract, salt, potassium salt, concentrated lemon juice, maize vinegar, carrot powder, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin).

What's the scary part? The oils and maltodextrin?

The only scary part imo is the vague 'flavouring'. This could be anything.

The fact that it's such a random concoction of unpredictable stuff that don't come to mind if you read "vegetarian meat"

[–] snoopa@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

what do you mean by unpredictable?

[–] greensand@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

well, you don't think of carrot powder first when you hear "veggie meat"

Hmm honestly I might, but maybe I am different 😄

Learn to make your own from beans or veggies! These probably are good as well though

Do you have a nice recipe? Mine tend to be either really dry or straight up fall apart.
