An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.

Beyond Meat's list of ingredients looks scary:
Water, pea protein* (16%), canola oil, coconut oil, rice protein, flavouring, stabilizer (methylcellulose), potato starch, apple extract, colour (beetroot red), maltodextrin, pomegranate extract, salt, potassium salt, concentrated lemon juice, maize vinegar, carrot powder, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin).
What's the scary part? The oils and maltodextrin?
The fact that it's such a random concoction of unpredictable stuff that don't come to mind if you read "vegetarian meat"

well, you don't think of carrot powder first when you hear "veggie meat"

The only scary part imo is the vague 'flavouring'. This could be anything.
