Went out for dinner last night, got a porterhouse. Some drinks, more drinks at another bar. Aldi beer.

Then I promptly fell asleep at 11pm.

It's fun when my partner's birthday is within 10 days of mine πŸ˜‚ he is my best friend, I love how we can make each other laugh.

I hope everyone has the best day!!

I used to love going to guitar shops. But I get treated like some kind of fucking exhibit these days. I went to one in Brunswick. I've known the owner for like, 20 years and he's super chill but rarely in store.

Not every musician is a lanky white dude.

I don't complain about racism pretty much ever, but it irks me in this context.

My 10 years sober present to myself.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

I have no idea what it is other than you bought it in the guitar shop and you really like it

therefore, nice πŸ™‚

In a nutshell the moment you turn it on, it turns you on.

Dude seriously. I'm dying to finish work and plug this into the helix.

I've got a stereo tube amp setup as well, so I hope it sounds fucking awesome!!!

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It makes sounds that make me very happy!

What more could one ask?

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago

πŸ˜„

and sharing that happy here makes it doubly so πŸ˜„

Bluestone moved! No monolith / stonehenge today :(

Surprisingly no injuries.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 11 points 3 weeks ago (7 children)

Moved some biggish bits of bluestone yesterday. Feeling that today. 2 more to go. One of them is about 1.5m long 30cm wide and 20cm high. Chuckin' it in a bluestone slab weight calculator it's over 250kgs lol.

Not sure what to do with the big one (or how to move it safely). Tempted to bury it a bit, upright in the middle of the lawn as a sort of a space odyssey monolith thing for no reason.

Decent view on my run earlier. Turns out those forestry trails are indeed steep.

Did some adulting with bank accounts. Not only has the old Bond paid for the new door but there is no need to double count pennies unless we find a Must that has to be ordered Right Now. Utterly astonished.

Several buckets of paint stripper it is.

Good morning. It’s flu shot day

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Good luck. Had a minor reaction to this year's batch. Nothing major just felt iffy for a couple of days.

[–] Pilk@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I got mine yesterday, definitely a bit of a kick to it this year! 😡

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe they added some spice in anticipation of a bad flu season.

I was fine two days after, but I rarely get side effects. This one definitely was extra

Can't sleep, too hot, angry angry angry at having my work schedule upended last minute and not having the time I really needed and now running behind on things again. Forced back out into site visits when I had other stuff to do and planned everything ahead of time. I am firmly putting my foot down next time.

I'm going to be extra grumpy from being sleep deprived as well...

Had an awful nightmare about someone from my past and woke up to see that they’d tried to call me at 3:45am (number is blocked, but it shows in my call log). I sent them a polite email β€œthis makes me very uncomfortable, please stop. Also I’m blocking your email address, so do not reply.” I don’t know if that was the right course of action, but I’m just… I just don’t want to see their name in my call log any more. They try and call a couple of times a month and I know it’s not for anything and they’ll always just say β€œit was an accident” or β€œI saw a bit of news you might be interested in”. Omg just stop.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

why the hell is someone calling you at 3:45? Unless someone is dead leave me the F alone. Most phones wont even ring at that time.

All my dreams are physical fights.

And I woke up with a normal headache.

Weird.

[–] Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I had a vivid dream for the first time in a while. It involved a work colleague I don't interact with much, speaking with them about work but also ninjas and karate on a long train ride to a suburb called Brain, where I was meeting an ex work colleague for her birthday party at a Japanese pizza and board games restaurant. I fell asleep multiple times at the birthday party and learned my male colleagues name (in my dream) was Wendy, which was short for Wendsley.

Feeling better now but I think I'll work from home today just to make sure everything is cleared from my system. The last thing you need before a week of is losing a day and a half to sickness

[–] calhoon2005@aussie.zone 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Some stars out tonight. So nice to be away from the light pollution.

Helping the kid organise her stuff. Fake eyelashes, fake nails and hair accessories give me the heebie jeebies. Yuck. I need a shower.

She came out with a whole bunch of cables for her dad to sort through. He secretly loves it.

My psychologist, psychiatrist and someone in my personal life who is not a friend or family member all think I have autism. None of them know each other, and have just told me that coincidentally at the same time. Unfortunately, it would explain a lot. I didn't even think of it until they said it.

I get ads for Temu which I'm quite happy to watch. Some things look handy and give me ideas but I'll never buy them from there. I like the kitchen stuff.

Today's ad was doggy wheels like the ones when the dog can't use his back legs. Doggy looked very happy wheeling around.

They really do sell everything.

I shook off my lethargy to gently gyme.

I’m now home and contemplating being in bed by six. It sounds pleasant

People who type on loud clacky keyboards in open place workspaces are psychopaths. The keyboard is not balanced on the desk as well, so it rocks when being smashed by its user, adding to the wall of sound.

I've switched from my ear buds to my over-ear headphones, let's see how we go blocking it out.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago

mechanical keyboards are fucking fantastic and do not belong in the workplace

unless you're all devs and insane anyway
