I can't post any pics I've taken myself or screenshots. Can post downloads and pics sent to me though. So I need to message them to myself and save as duplicate in order to post.

Could be they are larger than 100kb (picture size upload limit) and the photos you have been sent/downloaded are compressed below that size?
They are indeed largely compressed, but I was able to upload pictures with more than 600kb after the process.
