It’s second-hand information.

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Witnesses are allowed to say what they saw and heard. this is....like....one of the most basic things dude. WITNESS.

Did you think witnesses are only allowed to talk about what they SAW? That audio was banned?

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee -2 points 3 months ago (2 children)

They’re allowed to say whatever they want. It doesn’t mean it happens and it isn’t proof. I can’t stand the dude anymore than anyone else- but I don’t buy into hearsay.

There’s enough shit about him that’s provenly true. We don’t need to muddy the waters with “he said, she said” bullshit.

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I thought I explained what hearsay is to you as simply as I could.

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee -1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

So… I can say whatever I want about you, as long as I do it in a courtroom? No poof is needed- just. …

I said so.

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes dude. That's what a witness is. Its then up to the jury to decide.

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

And again, I generally don’t believe a thing unless it’s proven. Just like how it works in court.

Which was my original point.

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

What do you believe a witness is? What do you think they do?

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee -1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If all there is- is one guy saying something happened with no other proof. Then I dismiss it as a factual event.

It’s just how I am. This is my personal belief. Proof, or it didn’t happen.

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

OK thats your personal belief but all this time you been saying its how courts worked.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

it isn’t proof

Witness testimony is literally proof.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

How do you think any witness testimony was handled before the advent of cameras and tape recorders?
