If the words are related, the relationship is the other way around; the earliest urban dictionary definition is from 2003

Yeah, but I don't know if the word was common slang between then and the urban dictionary entry, whereas I definitely saw it in the mid-late aughts.

true, but I can attest that people were saying it in the 90s. It wasn't as popular, but chud was an insult when I was in high school, in the 90s.
