Hi girlss! πŸ’– I am looking for a new curl iron and there are soooo many options. I. AM. SO. LOST. 😭 Some are super expensive and some super cheap. I don’t want to pay too much but also I don’t want to cheap out

I was wondering if you have any recommendations ! What do you use and would you recommend it? Do you use any heat protection ? If so what? πŸ˜‡ If you have any other suggestions for curling your hair I am all ears !

I appreciate any suggestion :)

For the record, I have fine, pin-straight hair that isn't treated. Perfect for that limp, drowned-rat-in-the-summer look πŸ’€

In case you are interested in this topic: This likely has nothing to do with fine or very straight hair but with the porosity of your hair.
I have very low-porosity wavy hair and the only shape it keeps is the one it has. Actual curls? No. Straight? Also a no. I also have a hard time dyeing my hair at home and many products just sit on the hair without getting absorbed.
Low-porosity hair means the "scales" of the hair lie very flat. To do anything to your hair you have to lift them with either a lot of heat or chemicals. For example my hair loves hot steam. It's the only way I get it to absorb any moisture or conditioner.
Does your hair take very long to get wet? Does it float when you put it in water for a while instead of sinking? Then you probably have low-porosity hair. (There are more tests but I'd have to google them)
