I think I like the idea but shouldn't we worry it would make it harder to use? I mean, people are lazy... if they are forced to hesitate each time they want to vote for a post or a comment, they'll simply find a shortcut which probably means they'll go for the biggest/first button they can click. Something like that.
Also, I'm not sure vote will really change any deep trend (which by the way is one of the reasons I steered away from other social media). If people really want to share memes and low effort content can we really prevent it?
You could have Funny, On-topic, Disrespectful, like emoji réactions on group chats
Well in an ideal world, it might reduce the average amount of upvotes a post/comment gets, but provides more meaningful insight into the communities reaction.
lazy people can just stay on tiktok(or in this case reddit), i dont see the problem
"bro is" comments contribute nothing and on the long run are just degrading the quality and average intellect of the hivemind (see reddit, less and less critical thinking happening)
also its literally just an extra button you CAN click and look at, you can also choose to not do that, no?
