Got my postal vote. Democracy will occur after breakfast

I wish I could vote early but I don't meet any of the categories. I want to do my democracy now!

You can go vote early. I did mine yesterday and have been doing it for the last 3 elections.

They'll ask you if you meet the eligibility, just say yes and that's it.

If you need a reason just say you're out of the state at that time.

The eligibility reasons to postal vote or vote early are not strictly enforced.

You could say you're travelling on May 3rd (even though you don't have firm plans to do so just yet...) you would be far from the only one making the same claim.

You don't need to provide proof.

Hey, do you and the fam want to come camping in Wombat state forest the weekend of the election?

When I voted early last time, all they asked was, "Are you eligible to vote early?"

I said yes and then they gave me the papers.

Yeah, just rock up to a pre-poll place and say you'll be travelling and they'll let you. It's more 'preferred' if you vote on election day, they won't stop you voting early

I went towards the end of the day and they didn't even ask for a reason.
