Well they can't just take it directly from the airplane to your door, it needs to be processed...
Sure, but the processing centre is next to the Airport, and definitely doesn't explain the trip to the other side of the state.
And the thing is, I have very rarely had packages get off the plane, go through the processing center and head straight out to me, its just that more commonly they send it 60km away instead ๐คท
All of modern logistics is based on a hub and spoke system instead of point to point because it's cheaper. It's also why it's impossible to find a direct flight unless you live at or are traveling to a a hub airport.
