Is there a single page timeline of all these changes?
Like they started building mega tanks but then realized it wasn't working out because land mines would cripple them.
Actually, the mega-tank projects that they undertook were mostly abandoned because:
A. They were so heavy they literally sank into the ground
and/or
B. They were so slow they were sitting ducks for artillery
Up-armoring the tracks was one of the great innovations of tanks, and it took ad-hoc explosives rigged up as the first specialized anti-tank mines to get through to them.
