I paid $400 out of pocket with good insurance for a standard checkup in the US recently. Protect that NHS or you too will get to decide if you want to live or die with every injury.

I'm thousands of dollars in medical debt here in the U.S., but I'm also working on my dual citizenship with the UK, which is looking a lot more positive now... although I also have the possibility of German citizenship, and having an EU passport is pretty appealing, but it's one or the other and I don't know German and I am really bad with languages.

Also, the UK passport is pretty much a definite one whereas the German one will require going through Germany's famous bureaucracy.

Either way, I will want to have a quick exit if I have to come November, and at least now healthcare will not be a factor in the decision.
