I've genuinely never felt the need, but I also don't post for clout or proactively, I'm more of a reply guy in that I prefer the version of social media where I talk with people rather than at people and I do not give a crap about followers, upvotes or starting popular threads. Believe it or not that tends to do a lot to minimize the use cases for blocking, in that people rarely take the time to chase me around or specifically target me, even when things get heated.
But hey, if somebody is bothering you block away. I don't have a moral stance on it.
I'm gonna start following and bothering you!
Edit: huh boost for lemmy doesn't seem to have a "follow this user" button. So you might be save for now.
Put it on your calendar, daily repeating. Wake up, morning prep, breakfast + harass, you know?
I think "following" just isn't a feature in Lemmy. Which I think is a good thing... always struck me as creepy how people follow other people on social media.
The standard lemmy website shows a subscribe button if I follow the link to this users page. But I'm not going through the hassle of going to my pc, logging into lemmy, searching the user and subscribe to them just for a cheap joke
