“What was very shocking was that while we were all in the room discussing and listening to people impacted by what’s happening in Gaza, we’re not certain that that message will get across to the people at the top of the party,” Khader added. “You look at the themes of the party’s convention – today, tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday – there’s nowhere where Palestinians are included in that narrative.”

While the platform condemned former President Donald Trump for refusing to “endorse the political aspirations of the Palestinian people,” it made no divergence from the status quo policy of vetoing UN Security Council resolutions this year that moved towards Palestinian statehood.

While the platform boasts of being opposed to settler violence, it makes no acknowledgment of the International Court of Justice finding the Israeli government’s occupation and illegal expansions of settlements constitute apartheid.

And to that end, while the platform condemns UN efforts that apparently “single out” Israel, and the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement for the same – apparently ignoring the historical precedent of Americans also boycotting and pushing divestment against fossil fuel companies and apartheid South Africa.

Wow what a beautiful speech. AOC even mentions Kamala "working tirelessly to bring a ceasefire to Gaza"...

Right after the Biden admin approved $24 Billion in arms shipments to israel.

Can you timestamp the moment in that video where they bring up putting an arms embargo on israel? Lip service just doesn't hit the same after 10 months of Genocide.

The Vice President has no say in what the Administration does or doesn't do. Unless it comes to a 50/50 tie in the Senate, she has no real power at this point.

Gutless shill. "The party's nominee to the office of president (the de facto leader of the party) has zero say in their current policies"

The excuses are becoming as offensive as the genocide itself.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Correct. As Vice President, her job is to step in if Biden can't continue and break ties in the Senate, that's it.

She has made statements on self determination and a two state solution, but she will not run counter to the current administration.

Reading your feckless dodge to my point and playing the theme of The West Wing in crescendo

"the party" lol

What dialectical materialism does to a mfer

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml -1 points 2 months ago

not sure what you're on about but it's sure to be stupid as shit

[–] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world -4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're worried about the genocide? So I'm sure you'll have strong feelings about this?

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Only an ever growing disgust at liberals looking for literally any excuse to blame people not in power for the actions of their preferred leaders, who are in power.

  1. I don't honestly believe nor give a shit about this because

  2. Bibi is never going to willingly agree to an actual end to the genocide in the first place so anyone making this a center of attention is just fucking dumb. Like real fucking dumb. A credulous rube with zero critical thinking skills or long term memory.

[–] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world -3 points 2 months ago (1 children)
  1. Bibi is in power.
  2. I'm not "liberal."
  3. I doubt you give two fucks about genocide or Palestine if you're not concerned that Trump is possibly

BLOCKING A CEASEFIRE.

See? I can do lists too.

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No really you have the brain of a fish. You see a shiny object and you bite on it without question. Only an idiot of the highest order could be tricked into thinking there was anything even rhetorically framed as a cease fire on the table. Having any awareness at all of Biden's ideology and Bibi's political situation make the idea a joke.

I doubt you give two fucks about genocide or Palestine if you’re not concerned that Trump is possibly

Your disgusting cynicism in full bloom. You literally don't give a shit except now you have an angle to make it about your election.

[–] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago

Ah, so Bibi had no intention of a crease fire, so Donny boy interfering is perfectly acceptable. You really do care about Palestine. It's so obvious.

What's your take on this?

And I'm sure you noticed the trump quote in the article:

"From the start, Harris has worked to tie Israel's hand behind its back, demanding an immediate ceasefire, always demanding ceasefire...which would only give Hamas time to regroup and launch a new October 7 style attack."

Thoughts?

And where are you getting $24 billion? I'm only finding $20 Billion when i search. And that's just mentioning a deal involving F15's that won't arrive until 2026. Love to see your source on that.

So, your $24 bil is actually $3 bil, but that's not as eye grabbing. Just ignore the delivery date of the vast majority of your claims. Not pushing agenda at all.

What’s your take on this?

Sounds like he should go to jail maybe you should forward it to the police instead of me.

“From the start, Harris has worked to tie Israel’s hand behind its back, demanding an immediate ceasefire, always demanding ceasefire…which would only give Hamas time to regroup and launch a new October 7 style attack.”

Trump says he was better for the economy and Biden is worse. We all know that's fake but when it's convenient people suddenly start parroting Trumps words as if they mean anything.

Trump calls Biden a ‘bad Palestinian’ in US presidential debate jab

[–] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So, no calls of genocide Don? "Huh, will that's interesting." That's it? I thought you were against genocide in the middle east..?

If you ignore the last line in my comment you can keep typing trash. Maybe read before that.
