Spain is very impressive indeed.

I didn't follow Germany too closely, how are they doing?

Not too bad. The first match was against Scotland and that was very good. After that they have failed to shine. They'll be playing Denmark, who weren't hugely impressive but not too bad. Should be a good match to watch but it could also become a fairly boring stalemate type game.

Does Germany ever "shine"? I was under the impression they tend to be solid and impenetrable, with some classically constructed tactics for scoring, but not fancy like Spain etc (I'm a noob).

I think Germany has some very technical players. Musiala, Wirtz, Kroos. The rest of the squad is solid enough but they play pretty exciting football when they're on their game.
