Soft rubber components always go greasy and sort of melt after 5+ years. Also: got any tips for cleaning? The wheel and button edges in particular are really annoying to clean.
That tacky rubber feeling as the soft rubber ages is disgusting. They only fix that every worked for me is covering it up... I used mouse grip pads, or grip tape.
Once it's gone like that you can't really do anything about it. You have to clean it ahead of time to prevent that happening.
That's what I mean about getting a good quality mouse to begin with, The cheap ones are made of cheapish plastic that will do that eventually.
