Warning - there are no spoilers in my question, but there will probably be gameplay mechanics spoilers in any answers (hopefully).

I'm downloading Lies of P now to give it a shot. I'm not a big fan of RPG elements in these types of games (blasphemy I know), I prefer a focused experience; for example I liked Bloodbourne but never finished it because of all of the options, but I absolutely loved every minute of Sekiro. Basically I can't be bothered with experimenting with builds and crunching numbers, it's not for me.

I know any actual advice will depend on what I want the gameplay to feel like, so I guess all I can say is take Sekiro as an example - I'd probably be focusing on anything that will help speed and parrying (if any stats affect that?) and decent dodging.

So, do you have any advice on things I should focus on, things I should avoid or wait to upgrade, weapons to aim for etc? I don't mind spoilers.

Developers of indie puzzle game Orgynizer have claimed that Unity said organisations like Planned Parenthood are "not valid charities" and are instead "political groups."

In a blog post, the EU-based developer LizardFactory said the plans to charge developers up to $0.20 per install if they reach certain thresholds would cost them "around 30% of the funds we have gathered and already sent to charity."

As Unity clarified the runtime fee will not apply to charity games, LizardFactory reached out to the company to clarify their game would be exempt from the plan.

However, Unity reportedly said their partners were not "valid charities" and were viewed as "political groups."

Profits made from the game go directly to non-profit organisation Planned Parenthood and C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Michigan.

"We did this to raise money for a good cause, not to line the coffers of greedy scumbags," the developers wrote in a blog post. "We have been solid Unity fanboys for over ten years, but the trust is scattered all over the floor."

The developers are considering a move to open-source game engine Godot, "but we will have to recode our entire game because we refuse to give you a dime," they wrote. "This is a mafia-style shakedown, nothing more, nothing less."

Today, Unity responded to the ongoing backlash and apologised, acknowledging the "confusion and angst" surrounding the runtime fee policy.

The company has promised that changes to the policy will be shared in "a couple of days."

i recently played Syberia, Resonance, The Samaritan Paradox and Lamplight City. I'm looking for games along the same direction: 90s/2000s style adventure games. It could be really old games or also retro ones that have been released recently.

Do you have any recommendations on games you particularly enjoyed?

Any information on Linux compatibility would be a plus. But these days almost everything works anyway, so it's not a big deal.

Thanks to some amazing folks over at mholdschool.com we can finally enjoy the online cities of Minegarde and Dundorma in their full glory again. Not only are you able to play online, but Events, Siege quests and special sales from the cities vendors are also back. But the best: The private servers provide full functionality for original hardware as well!

For anyone curious you can join the discord, I‘m more than happy to help your PS2 setup.

Can anyone explain what voodoo magic Bethesda used to make Starfield, a game that usually runs below 30fps on my pc, feel like it's running above that? I mean, not even Nintendo on their own console has achieved this feat.

Hi all My kid will get a gaming pc soon. I can't swallow the cost of a whole setup at the moment. I'm thinking of getting a good motherboard with a decent second hand graphics card (a colleague I trust can find me one). And over time upgrade where needed. For monitor I would be using my TV.

Is this a smart idea? We'd have a wireless mouse/keyboard and some table thing to game from the couch.

At the moment my kid is into Roblox and Minecraft, but I assume once his pc can run more; he'll play 'real' games. We are also looking to learn to program (scratch/python). Would that work on a TV?

The TV is an older model (10 years old).

Edit; Thanks everyone for the ideas and advice. We'll try the TV first. And will also look into a steamdeck. It's nice to get such positive feedback from everyone!

Hi guys! So I happen to still own all these three devices, and I just saw RDR1 just dropped on the first two. Which device would you advice to play it on? Is it looking any better on PS4? Is it playing decently on the Deck yet? What's your advice on this?

Thanks!

I've had this question looking at the Quake con sale, and Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth is for sale on both platforms. I ended up buying it on GOG. What is your opinion?
