Oshi no Ko continues to hang out at or near the top of the chart this week as Makeine and No Longer Allowed In Another World round out the top 3. I also couldn't help but notice Yozakura Family decided to sneak into the top 10 this week with a big jump up the rankings.

These girls are a menace. They just hopped to the Majora's Mask world line like it was nothing.

So, let's recap what we know about this new girl:

  • Bad at school, but trying to get better
  • Big otaku nerd with a secret figure collection
  • Definitely likes somebody that Rumi is 100% sure isn't Jun
  • Was extra peppy and dressed up when Naori came over to visit

Yep...I think she likes Naori. So, we are expanding on this love triangle to create the weird, love rhombus that is this show.

Welcome aboard! Grab some taiyaki and hang on for dear life because I have no idea where this series is headed.

This series is such a trip. I never know what's going to happen next. This time they surprised me with the naked girl in the bushes. I thought that one of the suspects was going to be in the park.

Alright, this side relationship seems nice. I am glad they followed up on it after the trip and clarified things.

After an honestly great-looking date, Saotome hits stuco-prez with the "I just want to focus on myself right now" line. Look, I have given that line myself before...and then proceeded to date the right person very shortly afterwards when given the opportunity.

Hopefully it can be a catalyst to kick the other girls into action. But, then again, why not just wait until after this election arc instead?

Can anyone think of famous actors who likely act based on suffering?

Not like Aqua anyway. There are a couple of examples of actors feeling traumatized from their roles I can think of. Some due to the subject matter (Adrien Brody in The Pianist, Kate Winslet in The Reader), others due to the conditions on set (Shelly Duvall in The Shining, basically everybody in The Room), and others due to stuff that happened after release (Ahmed Best for Jar Jar Binks, Heather Donahue from Blair Witch Project).

Aaah yeah, that's the stuff...

Some great moments this episode. Kana got her turn in the avant-garde short film about her life and acting rotation, Akane got to see her full-power Kana perform again, and Aqua gets to pick at the scabs of past trauma. Everybody wins!

Yeah, this chapter very quickly escalated in the last couple pages. One moment we are chatting about how great Ruby is doing at an idol, then talking about how youth is fleeting, a phone call with a murderer, B Komachi has a dome concert (yay), a little god-child says some philosophical things, and then stab. It sprung up so suddenly.

Manga is a medium in which I am used to something like a two-day school trip dragging out over a volume or two. To go through this sequence of events in a couple pages was jarring...but I guess getting stabbed would feel pretty jarring too. So, maybe that is the intent.

As this chapter is stewing in my brain, this all could have been avoided had they not granted such unwarranted mercy after their movie screening.

Also, has nobody learned how to use door chains or up security before a big concert? It's like Aqua is still the only person traumatized by Ai's death.

This is almost surely a fakeout of some kind, but this really came on suddenly.

Welp, sometimes history does more than rhyme, it literally repeats itself.

Premieres sometime in 2025. Check out the ANN article for additional information. Synopsis from AniList:

If it looks like a dog and acts like a dog and insists it's a dog, it's...a dog? Probably? She adopted it anyway, and her life with this "dog" will never be boring!
