The stupidest thing is that actual cave people probably couldn't catch meat daily and thus also ate a lot of gathered plants.

In theory yes, you have to remember though that you have to enforce parents yourself. If you suspect infringement you will have to sue and carry the lawyer costs, at least until a court judges in your favor. This is off course besides the costs of applying for the parent itself. Your patent might also not be valid in all countries.

In practice the chances of a private person doing this and winning against a multi-billion dollar corporation without going bankrupt are negligible.

No, the woman in Springfield was just beaten to a pulp. You just don't know it because it doesn't make the news as long as she's not been set on fire.

The money they earn is income, not pure profit. The business usually has other expenses that have to be covered. In that case 25% is usually not a bad deal.

This is what cows could do if they weren't all being murdered and eten by humans

True, but it's not like there are many other options for this kind of thing.

So is living. If you're going to be that pedantic no unprocessed food can possibly exist.

As few as five raw beans or a single undercooked kidney bean can cause severe nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pains.

Do not do this with dried beans. Most dried beans are toxic and need to be soaked and boiled for about half an hour to become edible.

From the Wikipedia page for kidney beans:

Yes, many beans are, but kidney beans more than most. They need to be soaked and cooked for a significant amount of time to neutralize the toxins.
