Is there anything newer than 2021 here?

the fate of our entire planet

No.

Climate change is real. We're currently causing changes that otherwise wouldn't have happened/wouldn't have happened as quickly.

But neither are we going extinct nor is the planet in any danger.

Let's keep to the science.

I mean, you're right, but you should scroll down to the bottom of the article. The drop is more like 20% between summer and winter. The top table compares the manufacturers claimed range vs what they get - the one at the bottom compared summer range to winter range regardless of manufacturer claims :)

(~20% is also our experience from the Tesla Model 3 we had for four years. This winter will be the first with the ID.7 - I have high hopes)

Easy - it's a myth :) Yes range is affected. Yes the car needs to precondition the battery (heat it up) before charging. But cold weather affects the range of gas powered cars too and we seem to have survived that just fine.

Well I mean murdering someone breaks the very definition of libertarianism so you can be very sure they're just using that moniker because it fits whatever they're really trying to accomplish.

the maximum freedom for each individual to follow his own ways, his own values, as long as he doesn't interfere with anybody else who's doing the same.

But you're absolutely right that a lot of people who are today clearly cheering for fascists used to call themselves libertarians.

Yeah, the new platform is way better - one of the reasons we held on to the Tesla until the ID.7 was available.

Ahh then I might know where it comes from. People who use Tesla's Sentry mode don't realize that it uses up several percent per night. Now, it does turn off automatically when the battery is at 20% but I know people who parked at an airport and didn't have charge enough to get home when they got back because of this.

I haven't owned it through winter (no ID.7 owner has tbh) but I don't expect that to be an issue. It will only heat the battery if you schedule departure times.

I've noticed no battery drain with the car parked otherwise.

I have a VW ID.7 and it does - but I also believe that's the first model on their "new platform".

Which EV do you have where this is an issue? The ones I've had pre-heat the battery to optimal charging temperatures.
