It’s the amount of Wimps of Wallstreet that would support Champagne, even if they weren’t ever drinking Champagne themselves, that is part of issue.

This headline is part of the problem:

In one case a mother and baby were harmed after an inaccurate scan, with the staff member saying fatigue and workload contributed.

In the chemotherapy case the staff were nearly nine hours into a 12.5-hour day shift and had only managed five to six hours of sleep between shifts and had limited breaks because of staffing pressures.

The hospital investigation found fatigue was "likely to have been a factor".

It’s not a novel finding that people who are tired make mistakes. We know this. But this issue is framed incorrectly.

What entity is driving an entire workforce of people to be overworked? Limited breaks because of staffing pressure?

The article shifts the blame to the individual worker with this type of headline.

The article should be written in a less biased way: The government and the NHS are putting patients at risk by failing to properly staff hospitals.

Oh that’s pretty sick if true. We should promote preserving cultural traditions.

How many times are they (bigtechbois) going to try to roll out spy glasses?

I remember when they tried Google glasses and people were getting like yelled at and accosted when they had them on.

Now, maybe we have become more ok with being recorded all the time. And maybe they’ve shrunk the camera in the glasses to not be so noticeable.

I love tech and I wear glasses but I hate Meta so I hope this fails.

Hey welcome! I switched over to Lemmy after 11+ years on Reddit. People actually talk to you here versus in Reddit!

To me, the Reddit experience feels like shouting into the void now. Very much like alone in a crowded room (of mostly bots). You can go back and check if your posts and comments there had been blocked from being seen by others. It’s staggering how many posts and comments are blocked over there. You can see how many posts and comments from normal Redditors are hidden here: Reveddit.

Post stuff when you feel ready too! Your posts are needed because it’s just humans here. There’s no algorithm and there aren’t any bots reposting reposts.

If you weren’t there, Lemmy feels like Reddit 10 years ago in a good way.

Welcome again, Morbitm! 😄

Haha how hard is that to get? I had two buddies put no preference and their dog tags came back with “Baptist” and “Buddhist” I always wondered

Always split the cache up. Some behind a fireplace suspended from a rope anchored in your attic. Some behind baseboard that isn’t nailed down. Some in the toilet tank. Don’t waste it all on the backyard.

Yeah very likely. But the parties have changed spirit without changing name a few times over. Something will break. Change is inevitable. Might not be humanistic change. We can do what we can in our own ways to protect and guard humanism and decency in our immediate communities. It’s probably not enough. But nothing can last forever, even this darkness. So, we can become part of their inevitable failure. Even if it is only a small part.

There are occasions when it pays better to fight and be beaten than not to fight at all.

Oo let’s shorten it— ‘AUS! 👉‘ might work better with a naughty dog like Pete haha

Interesting. If I didn’t know better—this Judas sect sounds like it could be a Taoist offshoot! Similar philosophy about the world giving body to both “bad” and “good” and sometimes “bad” can make “good” come to fruition.

Neat I’ll look up more about them thanks.
