Unchecked greed is bad for society, capitalist or communist.

People are the problem. If we could only get rid of the people. /sarcasm

Hurricane Irene and Schoharie County, NY. It's happened before, and it's gonna happen again.

Now you're building strawmen and arguing in bad faith. Discussion's over.

I'll also propose a counterargument: Mossad, the IDF, and Israeli gov't in general doesn't give two shits about collateral damage, how many innocent civilians they kill, and whether or not the intended target is a Hezbollah agent (or Hamas, for that matter). If they kill a thousand innocents for every genuine terrorist, that's a good day in their book. "Innocent before proven guilty" doesn't exist in their world view. Guilty by association is.

If that's not true, they've got a lot of work ahead of them to improve their public image. The whole lot of them are no better than the terrorists they claim to be fighting against

  1. Bullshit, unless you're privy to the internal workings of alleged Hezbollah agents. Where's your documented proof?

  2. So you claim that 10 year old girl who died was a Hezbollah agent? I'd sooner think you're spewing more bullshit.

  3. See #2.

Alleged agent of Hezbollah receives the pager. Alleged agent places it on a table at home. Alleged agent's innocent daughter picks it off the table and uses it as a toy prop. Signal is sent, pager explodes, and kills the daughter.

There's an plethora of situations that could occur that result in an explosive pager being deployed while in the hands of someone not a Hezbollah agent, and that's if we take it at face value that Mossad can identify who is and isn't a Hezbollah agent. Wouldn't be the first time they've been overzealous and killed an innocent person. May they be judged accordingly by their Maker.

You and Oliver Cromwell would've gotten along well.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Gotta know your audience.

You state that animals are expressing wants and needs, not emotions, then ask questions that can only be answered by "we don't know".

I'd sooner think you do not know the former, either.

When the farmer says: "I'm here, ain't I?"...

After reading through your post history, all I can say is "Bullshit."

The season will be opening up here in Upstate NY soon. It can't come soon enough.

Took the SRV out last night for some bounty fun with the org mates. Never thought I'd have so much fun in an unarmed ship.

A couple of us were in combat ships, taking out the ERT bounties. Another ran a cargo ship. I piloted the SRV. Combat ships would knock down the bounties, preferably soft deathed. Any ships with decent cargo, I'd tow up to orbit and drop the ramp/lift. We'd transfer the cargo over, then make a run over to a salvage outpost and sell it.

Being unarmed put me in a position where I could concentrate on the big picture of the fight, while keeping an eye out for new hostiles. If we ever get the chance, upgrading the sensors on it would be my first component upgrade on it as a result (don't believe that's gonna happen). Towing the ships themselves wasn't complicated, but the mechanics involved mean I couldn't just tractor up to a Connie and horse on it without breaking the connection.

Update: apparently folk don't realize ERT bounty missions aren't players, but instead criminal NPCs. No players were harmed during the evening's events.

At the very least, it's a beautiful video.

Picked up a Force 5 dinghy plus trailer years ago, for the low low price of $100. Prior owner had let water sit in the mast tube, cracking it vertically. Trailer bunks were set up improperly as well, leading to some gnarly cracks in the hull. Without having any sailing experience, I was besotted with her (I can't resist a good project), until I learned the sail slipped over the mast and wasn't raised via halyard. I set her aside for a few years while I worked on other boat projects that fell into my lap (O'Day 19 & Westerly Centaur).

I'm based on a river with height restrictions in both directions, preventing me from actually sailing with the O'Day and the Westerly. The dinghy can make it under with feet to spare. I'd like to get some actual sailing in,, so I've set myself a goal to finish the rehab and get her on the water before the end of the season.

Mast tube has been repaired. Ground out and beveled the cracks in the hull, then fiberglassed several layers over. I hate mixing gelcoat, so I'll be painting instead. PVC replacements for the thwart bits are sitting in the pile, ready to go.

Trailer needs some work as well: bunkers need to be secured better, tires and bearings need inspection.
