Nix apps are not sandboxed and you have no control of what resources they have access to or don't, unless you wrap them with some other program

How the fuck....

It's mostly a matter of a right to a fair trial, these people deserve death but our legal systems are fragile and prone to failure. It's important to prove guilt before condemning the damned. Even if they deserve it. Glad this guy got what was coming to him though.

Xournal++ for sure

Lol so they stuck a rf target on their tanks...

Yup, people often mistake being a software developer for learning a language or a platform. Nope knowing and understanding the underlying systems and ideas / structures you will be working with is often far more important. The code pretty much stays the same. They syntax and features just differ a little

The project contains binary blobs anyway so theoretically it wouldn't be super hard

If you have workplace requirements I can imagine their security policy would let you run a app like this anyway?

I use nixos, due to the incredible state management. You know exactly what versions of packages are on your machine, can build all packages from source yourself or download from a binary cache. 100% reproducible. Steep ass learning curve but tbh it's well worth it. Saves you configuration time and energy in the long run. I've stopped distro hopping the implementation is so good. If you are concerned about security you can definitely harden it. There's a lot more to security then package version. And even then nixos gives you the choice.

It's likely if other browsers collapse they could rule chrome a monopoly too

You'd be surprised how many people don't care about business practices. It's actually kind of alarming

Bought a 1984 Hunter 27 recently. There is some exposed lead on the keel where some paint is chipping off. Any advice?
