Just wait, image manipulation will happen at image creation and there will be no "original". Proving an image is unmanipulated will be a landmark legal precedent and set the standard for being able to introduce photographic evidence. It is already a problem for audio recordings and will be eventually for video.

Well yeah, I'm not concerned with its ease of use nowadays. I'm more concerned with the computer forensics experts not being able to detect a fake for which Photoshop has always been detectable.

It'll sink in for you when photographic evidence is no longer admissible in court

Not common enough where anytime one happens it's still newsworthy. We'll see if that continues as the percentage of BEVs on the road grows

I still want an electric truck for random work, but I do love my bolt euv. I bought it with the intention of giving it to my kids when they start driving. The only thing I'd change if I could would be the DC charging rates. It charges too slow unless you plan events around charges and then it doesn't matter.

If the truck prices weren't so ridiculous because of all the luxury features in them, I'm sure I'd have an electric truck. When I searched for a base model Ford Lightning there were 3 east of the Mississippi and all 3 dealerships wanted $30,000 over msrp for them.

I don't know how solvent Intel is, but I'd be willing to be that this capital might go to covering that

If you gave me good odds

Thrawn came entirely from the books. The hype would not have existed for his appearance in the show had the books he was in been on the quality level of the sequels.

Hell, the sequels should have been based on the Thrawn trilogy

They all had a stamp of approval from George Lucas though. Once Disney bought the franchise they said fuck all that and made it "not cannon".

2 of these have me shop around for a better charger.

There's a DC charger near me that charges triple the regular rate that other chargers charge and 5 times the rate for electricity from the power company. Then after an hour it charges $30/hr on top of the triple rate charge. It also only delivers a top rate of 50kW so having to go from 10-80% is a real possibility for going past an hour change time. That charger is never used.

What's hilarious is that there's a free 50kW DC charger right across the street.

At this point I don't want anything to have kernel level access other than the OS and some necessary hardware drivers. I'm not super familiar with MacOS, but do you know if Gatekeeper or XProtect run at ring 0? If they do run at ring 0, would you consider that anticompetitive? I'm almost certain Apple will move or did move to depreciate kernel extensions. Which means it would be the same situation Microsoft wanted to force as you described.

The other argument with Defender is you could at least have a choice to use it or not.

That's a game I haven't heard in a long time

In response to this statement from FCC/MLS single entity:

Out of professional decorum, we will not be sharing the details publicly

This statement is weak af. I expect nothing less from FCC/MLS single entity. Control the narrative, control the opposition, monopolize US soccer

Biggest takeaway from this quote from Garber

We financially have no involvement in it. We don’t control the brand. We don’t control the state of the facilities.

It confirms my suspicion that MLS wants to be the only name in US soccer and is really pushing for their monopoly. The other takeaway is MLS gaslighting us now in saying this is for the greater good.

I can't wait for MLS to get busted up in an antitrust lawsuit. Fuck single entity.

This surpasses Wrestlemania 32
