Are song titles alone (not when used with other things) subject to trademark?

 

LMMS is a music production software. I use it on my PC. Is it good as an alternative for paid DAWs?

 

It's just behind the PS2 and Nintendo DS right now with 143 million units sold.

 

Reusing names of characters, locations, etc is allowed because they are not subject to copyright (only trademark, and in very specific cases). But it is bad on unfair to do so?
