I’ve been pretty happy with my kobo ereader. It can connect to the kobo store and work more or less like a kindle. You can also edit a config file on the reader and have it use a calibre-web instance as its primary store, which is what I do. That way you can seamlessly pull stuff from calibre and sync read status automatically. If you search for a book that’s not in calibre, your request gets passed through to the regular kobo store, no muss no fuss.

Again, I don’t know where you get your dry bags but they can be submerged just fine and stay dry inside. If you’re talking about how aggressively they float, that can be controlled by how much air you trap inside before closing them. I’ve done quite a bit of kayaking and never had a dry bag fail, even when repeatedly rolling the kayak (usually on purpose).

If you put pressure on the middle of that cheap plastic container, it will deform enough to cause the lid to leak or even pop off.

I’m not sure where you were looking at prices but you can get arbitrarily huge dry bags for very little money that won’t leak unless you subject them to pretty serious abuse.

I wouldn’t rely on your solution for anything that costs more than the plastic thingamajig you’re putting it in.

Obsidian (free, not open source), logseq, and tiddlywiki will all do most of what you want, except maybe the collaboration bit.

“But no baby,” he said, ABORTLY

Never forget that the baby bells slowly reassembled themselves. They’re not a single company but they’re down to 3 or 4 now

All VPs are basically picked because of what they are more than who they are. Since there aren’t a lot of actual duties assigned by the constitution, VPs are just picked to help win the election. That means their age, gender, skin color, birthplace, etc are more important than their achievements. That means almost all VPs, including Vance, are “DEI hires.”

I'm currently using an AMD 5950x and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 LHR, pushing video to a Dell U4021QW, which is a 40" monitor running 5120x2160@60hz. A few of the games I play are pretty challenged at that resolution, so I'm thinking of upgrading at least the video card. Is there any reason to build a new system with a newer CPU as well?
