I am looking to change my instance since many defederation and censorship decisions on lemmy.world.

Anyone knows of any instance that has a rule against defederation and is more free speech oriented. Of course I am looking for an instance that forbids illegal content like CP. But I want an instance that does not censor hate speech!

The instance should be hopefully federated with mostly everyone, unless defederated because of CP. I was considering lemm.ee, but I saw a comment from an admin saying that they could consider defederation if certain propaganda reaches front page.

Before anyone accuses me of anything, I just want to be exposed to different viewpoints, and I am not offended so easily, so I can tolerate offensive content. What is important is that the rules on defederation dont change in the future.

After long periods of not using GUIs, I found myself very confused every time I want to do something. I was trying to insert a code block into Power Point yesterday, took me half an hour of googling and didn't manage to do it. With Latex, I googled and in 2 minutes I had a code block.

Because it's an open Instruction Set Architecture.

Many different companies used to design their own CPU IS architectures in the past like (MIPS, AVR, PIC, ...) and of course the most popular ARM. Downside of this is that the software and ecosystems between these architectures are not compatible. Effort wasted in porting a library to one architecture cannot be always reused for another.

Recently we see a lot of companies adopting RiscV, and there is a big collaboration between them to ratify the specification and provide software support. This will in turn accelerate the development, and software and hardware support will hopefully overtake ARM in the future.

Limbo and Limmynade have joined forces, and will continue development together as Liftoff!

The past couple of weeks have been tremendously exciting times for all of us as events elsewhere have led to a massive growth in interest in and usage of Lemmy.

Our two separate projects both started with the intention of bringing an existing open-source code base Lemmur up to date, with the aim of helping new users to have a great first experience of Lemmy, while giving existing users access to many rich features. As soon as we became aware of each other we realised that we would work much more effectively by combining our efforts. Read more about what makes Liftoff! special.

We are:

Zach—Extensive experience in Enterprise full stack architecture and infrastructure.

Michael—Many years experience of developing and managing commercial and open source software projects.

Liftoff! is written in Dart for API support and Flutter for front-end development, meaning that it can run wherever Flutter runs. Our primary targets right now are Android and iOS, but the sky’s the limit!

Our current development priorities are to:

  • Ensure that the app runs robustly on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Identify and address any major bugs affecting key functionality
  • Work to improve the user experience on both platforms.
  • Release 1.0 version

Beta builds now available on TestFlight and will soon be available on F-Play and Google Store. (Note that the TestFlight page still refers to it as Limbo, but it does indeed install as Liftoff!)

Liftoff code is made available under GPL2.0 and can be found at https://github.com/liftoff-app

We have already had tremendous support from enthusiastic Lemmy users as separate projects and we look forward to continuing to work with you all. Code contributions, bug fixes, issue reports and suggestions are all welcome, so please join us on our journey into the unknown!

I was not paying too much attention to them. But I do remember them being much cheaper. This website confirms it https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-prices-1147281/

They were starting at 350$

[–] rist097@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (3 children)

That's about 500$ more than I would justify spending for a phone

What will be the price?
