It would require a feat of marketing to shift the definition used by the group. I think that's how it's generally done. Call it reasonable or unreasonable or whatever you like.

Fine, replace "reality" with "working model" then.

A sacrifice is something you like and want to keep, but you're going to give it up for a higher good.

Language is owned by the group.

Individuals don't dictate to the group.

This individual is asserting a definition of "dipshit" that contradicts the definition held by the group.

Not really a sacrifice if it's something you don't want

Would you sacrifice your flesh? No more body. Brain slurped out at birth, wired up to the internet.

Would you sacrifice your sex hormones? No more estrogen or testosterone.

Private property? Freedom of speech? Freedom to breed? Freedom of thought?...

If you understand your subject then you can use your own words, no need for citation.

If you do not understand your subject then citation will only make things worse.

If you were going to compare meditation to a thing (for purposes of description, education, poetry or whatever), what would you compare it to?

If you put half the effort into your answer that you put into picking nits, a fine conversation might happen.

Shameless pedantry aside, what about my actual point?

Consider the 2. Concentration and the other thing.

Both bring stillness (among other things) but via 2 different ways.

It's like making peace with your neighbors.

One way is to put up a big privacy fence.

The other way is to make friends with them.

We settled for wax or pine sap and we were darn glad to get it.

No quotes please.
