If you need to dual boot, be sure to use separate EFI partitions for windows and Linux, separate drives if possible. Windows has done this far too many times.

When I switched it didn't even have anything to do with the enshittification of Windows. I just thought it would be cool to try another OS. Pop_OS was really nice to use and this just so happened to be right around the time Proton was getting really good. I think the only game I was playing that didn't work was Siege, and I ended up preferring using Linux to playing it.

You don't need to be into BDSM to know the term gimp suit. I've seen it referred to in media plenty of times before. I think it's less common now, but it's likely the first thought of many people who hear the name. That or the offensive term for a disabled person, which is not any better.

That's some big slippery slope fallacy. Privacy respecting AI was a highly requested feature, whether you wanted it or not.

Them adding an AI mail assistant that is completely private has nothing to do with them eventually not protecting user privacy. These things have nothing to do with each other.

AI is not inherently a privacy invading tool, its just that the majority of services offering it are free, hence them profiting off data.

I've been using Protonmail as my primary address for a few years now. I'm yet to have a single spam email make it to my inbox. In comparison, I use my gmail less and I've had a few blatant crypto scams make it to my inbox.

I'm not saying for certain that it's better than Gmail's, but that's my experience so far.

Yep, the browser extensions also have an encrypted cache, although it is less consistent imo. I've had times where my server was down and the extension just completely logged out then couldn't authenticate so I couldn't access the cache.

Its not the real quote, but also this episode is titled Frowning Friends, so you're right that this scene has less smiling than most.

Yeah, it was already found to be a bug in the Windows scheduler

KDE has experimental HDR support already

I'm aware, I assumed being able to install sandboxed Google services would allow Google Wallet to pass, unlike on CalyxOS, but I might be wrong.

Oh interesting, I didn't know that's how GrapheneOS handles Google services. I'd love to have working NFC pay and RCS, so I'm going to have to take a look at it. Thanks for sharing!

Do any of you have any software you can recommend for removing unwanted audio tracks and subtitles? Some of my shows and movies have multiple, and the Roku app does not follow the users set default language, leading to it playing the wrong track when autoplaying.

I've tried unmanic, but its unfortunately too heavy for my server, just slows everything to a crawl.

Got this from a post on the alien site. From previous discussion on Lemmy it sounded like Linux users had good things to say about this game but were discouraged about the upcoming FaceIt implementation such that they wouldn't be able to join anticheat enabled matches. Those users and Linux gamers on the fence would probably appreciate hearing this news.

With this announcement on the dev team's community Discord, it appears Linux users will NOT lose access to matches with anticheat.
